ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Using proper solution to remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls.
• Spot cleaning windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean various parts of the bathroom.
• Emptying and checking soap and paper dispensers daily.
• Refilling dispensers as needed.
• Emptying and cleaning trash cans.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum using an "S" stroke.
• Dusting and sweeping floors, including under furniture and in restrooms.
• Grounds Care: Clean and check outside areas multiple times a day.
• Outside areas: Empty and clean ash urns and trash cans, police sidewalks, flower beds, and curb line.
• Spot cleaning spills on sidewalks, removing gum with a scraper, and wiping down benches, vending machines, and benches.
• Polishing public area glass as necessary.
• Food Court: Clean, remove trash, sanitize tables, and empty and clean trash cans.
• Food Court: Spot clean for spills and stack clean trays for recycled use.
• Parking Lot: Police outside eating areas.
• Food Court: Use tray power washer to clean tables.
• Food Court: Stack clean trays for recycled use.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock lightly on door before entering, be friendly and answer questions in a helpful manner.
• Report anything broken or out of order to supervisor.
• Work quietly and stay in assigned work area unless requested to go elsewhere by supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition appropriate to assigned duties.
