General Assignment Reporter
About the role
KABB/WOAI is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our dynamic news team. This position offers opportunities to grow our audience and engage with our viewers through impactful storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Create, gather, and write meaningful and engaging stories for newscasts, websites, and social media platforms
- Engage with local community members
- Work closely with all team members, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and News Director
- Provide news on air as directed by news management
- Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance
Requirements
- Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills
- 2 years’ reporting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred
Qualifications
- Excellent storytelling across multiple platforms
- Able to work well under pressure
