1:7 call rotation, offering a balanced schedule and predictable time away

  • Flexible practice model:
    • 60% solo or 40% supervised medical direction with an ideal 1:3 ratio and occasional 1:2 coverage.
  • Wide variety of cases, including:
    • General Surgery
    • Ortho
    • OB
    • ENT
    • Urology
    • Gastrointestinal (GI)
    • Neuro
    • Vascular
    • Not handling major trauma, transplant or cardiac cases (these cases are handled by a separate team).

Qualifications

  • MD/DO
  • Current or eligible Indiana licensure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is a 379-bed hospital and is designated as a level 3 trauma center. It is both a teaching hospital and a regional tertiary referral center. Over the last decade, the hospital has undergone a $130 million remodel and currently serves over 82,700 patients daily.

Since the early 1980s, physicians and staff members have been actively involved in national and international medical research studies, particularly in the areas of oncology, cardiology and coagulation.
