About the role
Join CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, the flagship academic medical center for CHI Health and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. As part of a collaborative department of 23 anesthesiologists and 27 CRNAs, you'll provide exceptional perioperative care in a 391-bed Level I Trauma Center serving a complex and diverse patient population. This is an outstanding opportunity for physicians seeking a broad, high-acuity clinical practice while contributing to a growing academic department.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthetic care across a full spectrum of surgical services, including general surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, ENT, neurosurgery, trauma, and emergency surgical cases
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, CRNAs, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based anesthesia care for both routine and complex patients
- Supervise and mentor CRNAs, anesthesiology residents, medical students, and future SRNAs
- Help shape a culture of education and continuous improvement
- Practice in a collaborative care team model with CRNAs and supervise anesthesiology residents as the newly established residency program launches in 2026
- Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement, and mentorship initiatives
- Help build one of the nation's newest anesthesiology residency programs
Schedule
- Shared general call schedule averaging five primary call shifts per month
- Three dedicated in-house nocturnist coverage shifts per month
- Three unrestricted home call responsibilities per month
- Guaranteed post-call day off following primary call
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Nebraska

Pay
$528,736 - $630,000 /year
