General Activities Therapist 1 - Treatment Mall

What You’ll Do

• Organizes, conducts, and implements Activity Therapy programs/services tailored to meet patients' interests and needs in physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual domains.
• Ensures programming is therapeutic and goal-reaching.
• Affords assessments when necessary to determine if changes to an activity are needed based on attendance numbers and patient feedback.
• Escorts patients off-site for community outings.
• Documents patients' responses to treatment plan goals in the electronic record.
• Observes and monitors activities of patients during leisure and program time.
• Maintains patient attendance records for general activities and/or leisure times; tracks Level II’s while in the treatment mall and completes safety rounds.
• Meets with patients to assist in completing satisfaction surveys if needed.
• Assists with overseeing volunteer-led programs such as bingo and religious services/programs.
• Communicates and attends meetings with Treatment Teams for cohesive patient care.

Requirements

• Completion of associate degree in recreation; 6 months of experience in activity therapy or recreation.
• OR Completion of an undergraduate core program in recreational area (e.g., physical education).
• OR 24 months of experience as an Activities Aide, 44210.
• The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Qualifications

• Completion of an associate degree in recreation; 6 months of experience in activity therapy or recreation.
• OR Completion of an undergraduate core program in recreational area (e.g., physical education).
• OR 24 months of experience as an Activities Aide, 44210.
