About the Role
This position is responsible for daily income journal balancing, audit reporting, and payroll tasks, ensuring efficient processing of accounting-related information according to Avion Hospitality standards.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the policies outlined in the Avion Employee Handbook.
- Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, property accountants, the Director of Finance, employees, and other departments.
- Process daily payroll tasks and perform bi-weekly payroll close for check payments.
- Run weekly payroll reporting.
- Perform daily income journal duties, ensuring discrepancies are researched and balanced.
- Post daily income journals by 10 a.m.
- Prepare daily audit packages with notes to department heads for follow-up.
- Prepare daily Marriott Bonvoy and OTA audits for premium revenues.
- Review hotel general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for corrections.
- Perform monthly cash, credit card, and inter-company account reconciliations.
- Resolve reconciling items through research and initiate adjustments as needed by payroll, A/P, or GL.
- Audit paperwork to ensure compliance with company document management and retention policies.
- Research and provide documentation to management for internal and external auditors.
- Perform special projects or other tasks as assigned.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Participate in weekly department meetings.
- Perform additional duties as specified by the Accounting Manager or department leaders, including month-end responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experience in a hospitality accounting environment is a plus.
- Experience in processing payroll is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically mid-level Excel skills.
- Clear understanding of General Ledger concepts.
- Ability to work with deadlines and take a creative approach to problem resolution.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and task prioritization skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technology quickly.
