General Accountant

Quarto Publishing Group is seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team.

About the role

The General Accountant will support the monthly close process, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance-sheet accounts, and assist with financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries.
• Reconcile assigned general-ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support the annual audit and tax-preparation processes.
• Maintain fixed-asset records and calculate depreciation.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and improve reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of general accounting experience, preferably in publishing or a related industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and enterprise accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
