General Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare, reconcile, and process autopay invoices, including hourly trucking, tonnage trucking, material purchases, and service providers
• Prepare, reconcile, and process internal journal entries, including job accruals and internal trucking
• Monitor trucking inbox and resolve payment issues directly with vendors
• Maintain cost reports for small, internal, and miscellaneous jobs, including timesheet preparation and customer billings
• Post and/or monitor cash receipts for a subset of companies and serve as a backup for others
• Perform additional reconciliations on a weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis to maintain accurate accounting cycles
• Complete additional assignments as directed by supervisor(s)

Requirements

• 4-year business or accounting degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience, or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
• Working knowledge of general office procedures and ability to organize and coordinate group work efforts
• Proficient research, supervisory, and communication skills
• Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in interpreting and applying company policies and procedures
