Gen AI Software Development Engineer

About the role

This role is for a Senior Software Engineer at AMD, focusing on building a platform for autonomous AI agents that run hardware validation campaigns and triage failures. The position is part of the Global Cluster Engineering organization, where the engineer will design and develop software for distributed infrastructure at a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the AI agent orchestration layer.
• Continuously improve the retrieval-augmented generation pipeline.
• Build intuitive web applications and developer experiences for engineers.
• Design and implement distributed services, APIs, and microservices for AI workflows.
• Develop and deploy agentic AI solutions that transform validation operations.
• Ensure AI/ML systems comply with security standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Software development experience with a strong portfolio of production systems.
• Genuine passion for building AI-native software and experience shipping real LLM-powered systems.
• Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines, including embedding models and vector databases.
• Production experience with LLM tool use, multi-agent orchestration, and prompt engineering.
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Java, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP.
