Gen AI Engineer III

About the role

The Gen AI Engineer III is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client groups, business units, or corporate departments. This role fosters collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains complex components of information systems.
• Maintains active relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders to develop business requirements and integrate AI into workflows and delivery tools.
• Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements; understands the product and analytics and drives requirements that take into account stakeholders' needs.
• Models evaluation and quality measurement; improves AI output quality through prompt optimization and model tuning (as applicable).
• Converts unstructured inputs into structured artifacts aligned to internal standards and historical patterns (e.g., requirements, specs, user stories, test cases).
• Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, responsible AI, data privacy, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Identifies problems/risks and system deficiencies; supports continuous improvement of production stability.
• Partners with QA to review test cases, assess adjacent code/regression impact, and support defect triage/fixes through system testing and re-validation.
• Supports operational readiness: logging/monitoring, troubleshooting, incident support, and on-call rotations (as needed); provides on-call support, monitors the system, and identifies system deficiencies.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years experience on one platform, multi-database, multi-language or multi-business application.
• Experience with US healthcare, payer, claims, clinical, HIPAA, PHI, regulated industry, or enterprise security experience preferred.
• Project experience including Agile project management, Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFE) preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile/SAFe delivery and portfolio management tools preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain AI concepts to non-technical audiences preferred.
• Experience integrating AI into tools such as JIRA or similar delivery platforms preferred.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents, tool/function calling, RAG, memory, model routing, evaluations, guardrails, observability, and secure API/tool access strongly preferred.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, including AgentCore Runtime, Memory, Identity, Gateway, Code Interpreter, Browser Tool, Observability, Evaluations, and Policy is strongly preferred.
• Experience building LLM or SLM applications preferred.
• Ability to review, test, and harden AI-generated code preferred.
• Production support experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience on one platform, multi-database, multi-language or multi-business application.
• BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.

Skills

• Software engineering fundamentals including, cloud-native development, APIs and microservices, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure SDLC.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, including AgentCore Runtime, Memory, Identity, Gateway, Code Interpreter, Browser Tool, Observability, Evaluations, and Policy.
• Experience building LLM or SLM applications.
• Ability to review, test, and harden AI-generated code.
