Gen AI Engineer

About the role

The Apple Content Solutions Team is seeking an experienced Gen AI Engineer to develop and maintain AI-driven automation solutions, with a focus on integrating and leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI-driven automation solutions, tracking effectiveness and refining them based on user feedback and evolving requirements.
• Create new tests to verify APIs built by third-party partners, ensuring correct implementation of Apple Pay features.
• Define test coverage for new features, create and maintain automated server test cases, and report test results.
• Contribute to the design and development of testing tools.
• Prioritize, schedule, and communicate the status of your work.
• Resolve highly technical issues in complex systems and triage automation failures for quick resolution.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Work with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and UX.
• Maintain exceptional documentation and clearly explain core technical processes.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in software development, with 5+ years of hands-on industry experience.
• Strong foundation in Java and Python, with extensive hands-on experience in both.
• Deep understanding of LLMs and experience integrating them into workflows.
• Familiarity with AI agentic frameworks, MCPs, and LLM libraries (e.g., Anthropic SDK).
• Understanding of LLM orchestration patterns, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI deployment practices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin for API test development, including REST and troubleshooting test failures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with a focus on testability.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, tailoring messages to different audiences.
• Strong organizational skills enabling both independent and team-based work.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Independent visa holders only (no sponsorship provided).

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of CI/CD principles and designing testing strategies for cloud applications.
• Experience with containerization and virtualization using Docker, Kubernetes, or related technologies.
• Familiarity with AI/ML solutions.
• Prior experience at Apple is a strong plus.
