Position Details
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Part-time, Academic Calendar, Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM plus 45 minutes paid planning time for each class (typically 6 hrs/wk)
Location: Dr. Jeffery Kitching Regional Learning Center, 215 Hogan Drive, Torrington, CT 06790
Pay Rate: $33.43 /hr

Job Description
EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to teach Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies content to adult learners to prepare them to take the GED® subject area tests.
Major Responsibilities
- Create a positive learning environment that is supportive and safe for all learners
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage learners and develop sound foundational skills in each subject area and transferable visual literacy skills
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Sensitive to the needs of adult learners aged 18+
- Knowledge of a wide variety of strategies and linguistic supports to support instruction
- Ability to use classroom technology such as a laptop, projector, and interactive board to enhance instruction
Qualifications/Requirements
- Maintains respectful and professional working relationships with all individuals
- Sensitive to the needs of adult learners
- CT certification #107, #106, #015 English, or #029 Mathematics preferred
