About the role
Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Gear and Shaft Machining- 2nd Shift at our Euclid, Ohio plant. This is an onsite role, with core 2nd shift hours between 3:30pm - 12am Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various drilling, milling, edge breaking, and burring machines to generate rough and finish dimensions on a variety of parts.
- Perform operations required to burr, polish, finish, and blend surfaces on machined parts.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections and maintain accurate documentation on a variety of parts in accordance with ANSI Y14-5 and the certified operator program.
- Assistance may be given to other operators on proper operational procedures.
- Setup and operate super finish, lapping, center grinding equipment, balance, shot peen, edge breaking, sand vapor blast and burring machines to generate rough and finish dimensions on a variety of parts.
- Mount and accurately align various jig and fixtures, select speeds, and feeds.
- Load and align tooling, working from engineering layouts.
- Adjust stops and cams to produce finish dimensions to close tolerances.
- Utilize in-process gaging such as indicator arrangements, travel dials, etc., to ensure accurate size control.
- Read and interpret moderately complicated blueprints and execute quality checks using a variety of mechanical and electronic gages.
- Perform degrease and oiling operations on hardware.
- Set up and operate all equipment with minimum assistance, be familiar with work procedures involved with lapping, sub-assembly, balancing, super-finish, mill, drill and burring operations.
- Frequent changes in set-up and maintenance of close tolerance require constant attention.
- Maintain accurate lot control (QCP 6.0) traceability, record keeping, logbook entries, NCR’s (QCP 11.0) and associated documentation.
- Final stocking operations for completed product as required.
- Maintain clean equipment and work area.
- Move material within the cell.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
- Minimum two (2) years of machining (Non-CNC acceptable).
- Minimum 2-year GD&T Experience (successful completion of Eaton Level 1 Advanced Training will be considered in lieu of this requirement).
- Pass an Eaton vision test.
- Become a Certified Operator.
- Perform 5S and other duties as assigned.
