GE Vernova GridOS Software Test Engineer - Intern - Summer 2027
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer Intern to join our team to ensure the quality and performance of our software through rigorous manual and automated testing. You will gain hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle, with a unique opportunity to learn how to deploy and validate complex GridOS applications. About the Role
In this role, you will work alongside experienced QA professionals and developers to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. You will gain hands-on experience with testing methodologies, automated testing tools, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a unique opportunity to learn how to deploy and validate complex GridOS applications in a simulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual and automated test cases to identify bugs and software defects.
- Assist in writing, maintaining, and updating test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
- Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and daily stand-ups to understand requirements and contribute to quality goals.
- Document, track, and verify software defects using our internal issue-tracking tools.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments and data sets.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or JavaScript).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- The required work location is Atlanta, GA or Bellevue, WA - 100% onsite.
- Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in testing tools (e.g., Katalon, qTest).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and AWS (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- An interest in performance testing or security testing.
- Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale cumulative GPA (without rounding).
Pay
The pay for this position ranges from $1,000 weekly to $2,000 weekly based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
