GCC US NBFI Coverage - Director
Deutsche Bank is seeking an experienced Director-level Coverage Banker to join the Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) Coverage team in New York. This role focuses on building out the Alternative Asset Manager/Financial Sponsors sub-industry vertical as a lead originator, positioning Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Bank within the industry and among key decision-makers at portfolio clients.
About the Role
As Director, you will serve as the Accountable Client Owner for clients in your portfolio, demonstrating deep industry proficiency and owning risk for the first line of defense. You will establish and manage a client portfolio, develop coverage strategies, identify and pursue opportunities, structure complex solutions, and mentor junior team members. This role requires close collaboration with Coverage groups across the Investment Bank and Private Bank, ensuring adherence to the Bank’s compliance and regulatory policies.
Responsibilities
- Generate significant revenue over a sustained period and identify cross-sell opportunities across all areas of the Bank.
- Lead day-to-day coverage, origination, and relationship management for assigned Alternative Asset Managers and Financial Sponsors clients, focusing on Corporate Bank solutions such as Cash Management, Trade Finance & Lending, Trust & Securities Services, Strategic Corporate Lending, and risk management for Foreign Exchange (FX) and Rates.
- Collaborate with Global NBFI Coverage teams and product teams to position Deutsche Bank as the preferred provider for Alternative Asset Managers and Financial Sponsors clients, ensuring globally coordinated strategies.
- Maintain high standards in producing internal and external materials, including pitch decks, product pamphlets, brochures, strategy documents, and business review pages.
- Provide industry, market, and regulatory expertise to Global NBFI Coverage and Corporate Bank product teams to maximize sector penetration and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and Deutsche Bank policies, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.
- Facilitate strategic initiatives to build Deutsche Bank’s NBFI Coverage franchise and reputation in the market.
- Assist the NBFI Regional Head in forming business strategies, implementation plans, and identifying process improvements.
- Guide, mentor, and develop junior team members to accelerate their careers within coverage.
Requirements
- Academic degree with strong credentials, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- FINRA Series 63 and 79 license holders preferred (licenses required within 6 months of employment).
- Extensive experience within the financial sector, with relevant coverage and credit experience.
- Expertise and established relationships with Alternative Asset Managers and Financial Sponsors clients, with a proven track record of identifying and closing significant revenue-generating opportunities across Corporate Banking products.
- Strong Corporate Banking fundamentals across Cash Management, Trade Finance & Lending, Trust & Securities Services, Strategic Corporate Lending, and risk management for FX and Rates.
- Credit fundamentals with formal credit training preferred; understanding of KYC, AML, risk management, and risk mitigation.

Pay
The salary range for this position in New York City is $190,000 to $299,500. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skill set, experience, education, work location, and other qualifications. The posted range does not include incentive compensation or other forms of remuneration.
