Gather Operator

About the role

Gather Operators are needed at the Sussex, WI plant to gather and assemble pages of books in the correct order before feeding them into Perfect Binder machines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for gathering and assembling pages of books in the correct order.
• Experience with Goss Perfect Binders is highly desirable.
• Work 3 to 4, 12-hour days a week with opportunities for overtime (OT paid after 40 hours per week).
• Shifts include weekends and holidays, working 3-4 days per week.
• Overtime is possible but not guaranteed.
• Essential functions include lifting 10-15 pounds continuously, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, standing for long hours, using hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receiving and following instructions, and using vision to identify defects.

Requirements

• Previous print finishing operator experience.
• Knowledge of perfect binder operation and mailing operations and equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read, understand, and follow binder guides, ability to train and direct crew, self-motivated.
• Adequate attendance record, satisfactory job performance in current position, excellent safety record, and work habits.
• Positive attitude and team player (able to work with others).
• Able to work any shift and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Pay

The wage range for a skilled Gather Operator is between $19.00 - $24.25 / hr. depending on prior print experience.
