Gastroenterologist-Faculty

About the role

Montefiore Medical Center's distinguished Gastroenterologists perform approximately 14,000 procedures annually, using the most advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat disorders of the digestive system. Through the support of our researchers, our physicians have access to the most advanced technology, treatments and diagnostics in Gastroenterological care, especially colorectal and liver cancer.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about their condition and treatment options
• Determine a treatment plan for each patient
• Perform endoscopy procedures at the endoscopy unit or nearby Ambulatory Endoscopy Center
• Collaborate with GI fellows for inpatient consult service coverage
• Participate in outpatient care at modern, LPN-staffed ambulatory sites and endoscopy centers

Requirements

• Advanced therapeutics are not required but are welcome
• Experience with a wide range of GI procedures including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, esophageal and rectal manometry, liver biopsy, capsule endoscopy, and gastrointestinal motility services
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification in Gastroenterology
• Current New York State Medical License

Benefits

A competitive salary of $400,000-$420,000, productivity incentives, LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) are offered.

Pay

$336,000.00-$420,000.00

Schedule

Varying hours, typically 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
