Gastroenterologist
Location: Kokomo, Indiana | Facility: Ascension St Vincent Kokomo | Full time
About the role
The role primarily focuses on meeting the needs in the outpatient setting with a strong referral base, large employer-health clinic, and very little GI competition. Inpatient load is minimized by highly-skilled and engaged 24/7 hospitalists who manage all admissions and discharges. This is an employed position within a nonprofit health system.

Responsibilities
- Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area
- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
- Fellowship training required in Gastroenterology
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
