Gastdocent (82u) Financial Planning

About the role

You will be part of the Idea & Innovation Management program, a pioneer in innovation education within Flemish higher education. Your primary responsibility is teaching the course Financial Planning, where you guide students in developing a strong financial plan. This course builds on the Business Case & Project course, in which student groups have already created their own business cases. You will take over these groups and further coach them toward a financial plan for their business case. Additionally, you will serve as a guest lecturer, teaching students the basics of accountancy and financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Guide student groups in developing a financial plan for their business cases.
• Teach the fundamentals of accountancy and financial planning as a guest lecturer.
• Foster an innovative mindset and provide insights into the financial aspects of entrepreneurship.
• Take initiative to propose improvements that benefit the program.
• Contribute to a well-functioning team within the program.

Requirements

• You hold a Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commercial Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, any other Master’s degree supplemented with demonstrable relevant work experience is acceptable.
• If you hold a foreign diploma (except from the Netherlands, Luxembourg, or the Baltic states), you must include an equivalency certificate from NARIC.
• You meet the conditions of articles V 106 and V 107 of the Higher Education Codex.
• You have at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in finance, accountancy, and/or innovation management.
• You possess didactic skills, with experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring. Experience in higher education is a plus.

Schedule

This is a guest lecturer position for the academic year 2027, running from February 1, 2027 to September 30, 2027, with a teaching volume of 82 hours.
