Gas Utilityman Apprentice

About the Role

Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois, delivering safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must pass the Construction and Skilled Trades (CAST) test
• Successful completion of Gas Evaluations
• Must pass behavioral interview
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, and driver qualifications
• Must be able to obtain CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
• Must become respirator qualified
• Must be able to work with the public
• Must be readily available for shift work and overtime
• Must live within 25 miles of the service center (candidates willing to move within 25 miles at their own expense will be considered)

Preferred Experience

• Welding
• Pipefitting
• HVAC
• Excavating equipment operation

Pay

Hourly Pay: Grade Step DA 091 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 43.00 USD. Position is eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance and subject to sole management discretion.
