Gas Turbine Specialist - On Site Services
OSS/On-site Services is seeking a motivated, experienced, and skilled Alignment Specialist with expertise in repairing power generation equipment. You will have leadership skills and a desire to learn and grow in this ever-evolving industry. Knowledge of GE, Alstom, or similar OEM Power Turbine equipment and experience with portable on-site machining—emphasizing large lathes, boring bars, drills, and mills—are required.
Responsibilities
- Execute assignments according to GE EHS and Quality requirements.
- Complete all pre-job planning and post-job reporting, including machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies, and preparation and review of EHS Safety Plan / Quality Plan.
- Lead turbine alignment projects by taking precision measurement data with Faro Laser or Optical methods, analyzing and interpreting data, and recommending and managing equipment casing and bearing moves.
- Be proficient in all aspects of the On-Site Machining (OSM) service offering to independently complete assignments, including turbine rotor machining, turbine casing machining repairs, and valve seat retrofits.
- Provide OSS progress updates to the OSS Service Manager and project customer team.
- Provide technical direction to on-site crews in line with technical requirements, including guidance and leadership on crew duties to ensure safe, quality project completion within schedule.
- Support OSS Supervisors for large repair and machining projects as needed.
- Perform specialist duties such as projects assigned by OSS management, development of innovative service offerings, delivery of training to the broader OSS team, and driving a safety, quality, and customer-centric culture.
- Ensure all field documentation is completed, including Safety Observations, Quality Documents, daily turnover logs, and customer final reports.
- Mentor and develop OSS technicians on the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HS Diploma with 4+ years of equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Gas or Steam turbine technologies.
- Ability and willingness to travel significantly, both domestic and international, with no restrictions.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and second shift.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening; offer conditioned upon successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

Pay
For candidates applying to a U.S.-based position, the pay range is between $72,400.00 and $108,600.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.
