Our Advanced Gas Operations (AGO) division provides dedicated service to our gas customers. No prior locating experience is needed, but previous industry experience is a plus and will be considered when determining starting pay.
Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, independently working in the field using their company-provided vehicle. We use best-in-class ticket and claims management systems to ensure clear and complete mark-out services for the excavator or property owner at the work site.
Responsibilities
- Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.
- Perform hand digging to unearth gas lines as required.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
- Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
- Locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending on the project assignment.
Requirements
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends) as needed.
- Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
- Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
- Proficiency with technology, including reading and understanding locate tickets, maps, and prints; basic math skills to calculate distances.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience is a plus.

Pay
$20.00 hourly.
Schedule
- Daytime, full-time positions.
- 48-hour turnaround time on many locates, generally working the day after holidays and some weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends).
