Gas Engineer II - INDIANA
About the role
The Gas Engineer II coordinates field and office compliance efforts throughout regions. They work with various levels of management and operations to maintain and manage facilities such as: integrity risk assessments, system inspections, repair and prevention plans, record keeping, and identification of all capital and O&M projects necessary to maintain compliance.
Responsibilities
- Apply value analysis to make maintenance/capital decisions, i.e. repair, replace, and repair redesign for gas distribution systems.
- Use software tools to: analyze asset histories, identify specific repetitive leak failures, and effectively address identified areas.
- Review all leak failures, determine root causes, and recommend actions to improve system reliability.
- Directs, advises, and coordinates with engineering and operations personnel to execute assessment testing schedule on all capital and O&M projects related to transmission facilities.
- Oversees data management of existing facilities, field inspections, repairs, and manages replacements of all facilities.
- Develops and refines appropriate relative risk-based preventative/predictive maintenance programs for gas transmission systems.
- Collaborates with Operations, Engineering, and Compliance to ensure that correct preventative and predictive maintenance activities and inspections are performed when due.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Requires a minimum of two (2) years experience in one of the following areas: gas engineering, operations, utility design, or related project construction design.
