Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and maintain piping systems and equipment for natural gas utilities.
• Join piping using fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical coupled joints.
• Verify specifications by performing quality assurance tests.
• Load and unload equipment and materials; keep worksite clean and organized, free from unnecessary hazards.
• Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership, including general labor to support project success.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 1+ years of prior experience in pipe fitting/fusing in the gas utility industry.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) for safety instructions.
• Ability to perform prolonged and repeated physical tasks, including:
  • Lifting (including overhead, up to 50 lbs).
  • Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling.
• Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination, with the ability to maintain constant alertness in a safe manner.
• Willingness to work within the “red zone” of heavy equipment and in potentially extreme outdoor weather conditions.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens (marijuana use is prohibited for safety-sensitive roles).
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Pass a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold/obtain a DOT medical card.
• Join and maintain Union membership.
