Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and maintain piping systems and equipment for natural gas utilities.
- Join piping using fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical coupled joints.
- Verify specifications by performing quality assurance tests.
- Load and unload equipment and materials; keep worksite clean and organized, free from unnecessary hazards.
- Maintain all industry-required Operator Qualifications.
- Perform other tasks as requested by leadership, including general labor to support project success.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 1+ years of prior experience in pipe fitting/fusing in the gas utility industry.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) for safety instructions.
- Ability to perform prolonged and repeated physical tasks, including:
- Lifting (including overhead, up to 50 lbs).
- Standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling.
- Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination, with the ability to maintain constant alertness in a safe manner.
- Willingness to work within the “red zone” of heavy equipment and in potentially extreme outdoor weather conditions.
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens (marijuana use is prohibited for safety-sensitive roles).
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test and hold/obtain a DOT medical card.
- Join and maintain Union membership.
