Gas Controller

Primary Duties

• Maintains gas flow and pressures at metering stations using SCADA systems.
• Controls gas flow and pressures at compressor stations.
• Responds to SCADA alarms and corrects issues remotely or by requesting help.
• Reviews and maintains records of previous shift operations and unusual activities.
• Selects and utilizes various gas supply sources.
• Manages after-hours pipeline emergencies and dispatches personnel.
• Prepares and distributes reports on gas control activities.
• Maintains awareness of pipeline operational flow orders and Homeland Security updates.
• Monitors pipeline electronic bulletin boards and complies with DOT and PHMSA regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate's Degree and three years related experience in the natural gas industry.
• General educational knowledge (high school diploma/GED) and four years related experience in the natural gas industry.

Communication Skills

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to customers with relevant experience.

Numeric Skills

• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Computer Skills

• Basic computer skills for data entry, reference, and retrieval.

Work Conditions

• Indoor environment.
• Shift work, 24/7 availability.
• Occasional physical demands (bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, lifting).
