Gardener Operator

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen in our Parks and Gardens team to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Gardener Operator. The Gardener Operator will be responsible for participating in the effective maintenance of Parks, Reserves and Streetscapes with the Shire of Broome. The day-to-day operations of work will include undertaking the maintenance and improvement of the parks, reserves, verges, public open space, drainage, streetscapes and associated assets within the Shire of Broome as well as providing weed control, pest management and community education services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve parks, reserves, verges, public open space, drainage, streetscapes and associated assets
• Provide weed control services
• Provide pest management services
• Deliver community education services

Requirements

• Self‑motivated, reliable, able to follow instructions while showing initiative and sound judgement
• Physically fit and capable of manual labour in Broome’s tropical climate
• Able to work collaboratively and positively as part of a small team
• Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
• Current C‑class driver’s licence (MR licence desirable)
