About the role
THE PIG-in the Cotswolds is seeking an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Gardener to join our talented garden team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within one of England's most celebrated hotel gardens.
Responsibilities
- Care for and develop ornamental spaces and wider estate, ensuring they are beautifully presented throughout the seasons.
- Involved in all aspects of garden and grounds maintenance, including planting, pruning, propagation, lawn care, hedge cutting, seasonal displays and general estate upkeep.
- Engage with visitors, sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for the gardens, and supporting daily garden tours following induction.
- Involvement in the care of chickens, as part of the role.
Requirements
- A horticultural qualification (desirable), although substantial practical experience will be considered in its place.
- At least two years' professional gardening experience, ideally gained on a large private estate, country house, hotel or similar property.
- A good knowledge of plants, seasonal gardening techniques and practical garden maintenance.
- PA1 and PA6 pesticide application certification.
- A flexible, hands-on approach and the willingness to undertake a wide variety of gardening and grounds maintenance tasks.
- An excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for creating and maintaining exceptional gardens.
- A friendly, approachable manner and confidence speaking with guests about the gardens and grounds.

Pay
£13.71 per hour (OTE £14.81 per hour including tronc).
Schedule
35 hours per week, over 5 days.
