Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a full-time Refuse Service Truck Driver in our Addy, WA business unit.
About the role
Operate front load, side load refuse collection trucks, and roll-off style dump trucks in residential and commercial locations. Basic computer literacy is required; on-the-job training is provided for industry-specific programs.
- Arrive on time, receive paperwork and tablet data for daily route
- Perform pre-trip inspection to ensure truck is in working order
- Drive truck on fixed weekly route collecting refuse, recycling, or organics debris using hydraulic equipment
- Load extra bags/boxes/cans by lifting into carts
- Document extras, not-outs, and damaged carts using tablet or paper
- Communicate effectively with the office and other drivers regarding route and customer information
- Dump truck at the end of the day and clean out truck body and cab
- Conduct post-trip inspection and report any maintenance needs
- Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Class A or B CDL with no air brake restriction
- Licensed for both manual and automatic transmissions
- Valid USDOT Medical Certificate (med card)
- Must meet insurance carrier requirements for driving record
- Subject to USDOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing rules
- Two years of CDL Class A or B driving experience
Physical Abilities
- Regularly (5+ hours per day): sit, stand, see, hear, walk, reach, grasp, fine finger manipulation, wrist flexion, operate foot and hand controls
- Frequently (3-4 hours per day): climb, bend, pull/push (up to 60 pounds)
- Occasionally (1-2 hours per day): lift (up to 60 pounds), crawl, stoop/crouch, twist
- Ability to clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, and differentiate between colors
Schedule
Full-time, day shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:30 PM. Some seasonal overtime may be available but is not guaranteed.
Pay
Starting wage: $27.50 per hour. Wage increases: $0.50 per hour at 6, 12, and 18 months of employment. Annual cost-of-living adjustment begins in 2027.
$500 bonus after 6 months of employment and $1,000 after 12 months of employment.
