Responsibilities
- Evaluate, quote, and bind garage risks, including repair shops, dealerships, towing operations, body shops, and automotive service centers.
- Analyze exposures, financial indicators, operational controls, and loss history to determine eligibility, pricing, and coverage structure.
- Develop comprehensive coverage programs, including Garage Liability, Garagekeepers, Property, Inland Marine, and Umbrella policies.
- Serve as the primary production driver for the garage segment, maintaining a consistent monthly new business cadence.
- Balance competitiveness with underwriting discipline to ensure long-term portfolio profitability.
- Build and actively manage a specialized niche book of business within the Texas garage marketplace.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier underwriters.
- Negotiate pricing, coverage enhancements, deductibles, and policy terms to optimize placement outcomes.
- Identify optimal carrier markets and expand underwriting capacity.
- Stay informed on carrier appetite changes, underwriting guidelines, and emerging market opportunities.
- Manage renewal strategies to improve retention, pricing adequacy, and coverage alignment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within agency management systems.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Active Texas Property & Casualty license or ability to obtain promptly.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial lines insurance with a focus on garage, transportation, or automotive service risks.
- Experience working directly with carrier underwriters and navigating underwriting guidelines.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
