Garage Door Technician Apprentice, Orlando FL
About the role
This is hands‑on mechanical work in hot and freezing garages, not a sales job with occasional lifting. You will diagnose problems, fix them yourself, and then talk to the homeowner like a trusted professional. We look for someone who puts people first — down‑to‑earth, dependable, easy to talk to, with a strong work ethic and the grit to do physical work daily. We’ll teach you to sell; selling isn’t optional — it’s the job, because no sale means no repair and no paycheck. The position is commission‑based, so every dollar you earn starts with a homeowner trusting you enough to say yes. You’ll receive six weeks of paid training (two weeks locally, four weeks at the Phoenix Academy, travel covered) plus a $1,000 graduation bonus, and there is a real career path toward building six‑figure earnings over time.
Responsibilities
- Repair and install garage door components: springs, cables, rollers, openers, motors.
- Lift 75+ lbs., bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in extreme temperatures (100°F garages and freezing conditions).
- Perform hands‑on mechanical work from the first job to the last.
- Engage with homeowners to explain issues and recommend solutions, turning trust into sales.
- Understand that no sale means no repair and no paycheck; your income is directly tied to closing the deal.

- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check and drug test (THC excluded).
- Basic tech comfort (apps, tablets) and reading/math skills for measurements and payments.
- No prior sales experience required — we’ll teach you how to sell.
