About the Role
We are looking for a Garage Door Commercial Technician with a minimum of 3 years experience. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help grow our commercial department. You will repair, replace, and install garage doors, putting customers at ease and ensuring they fully understand the service options available.
As a Precision Garage Door Service team member, you’ll receive professional training and development, with opportunities for continued growth in the commercial garage door sector. You’ll have autonomy with a company-provided vehicle, support from a dynamic team, and the chance to control your income through competitive compensation and commissions.
Responsibilities
- Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations.
- Diagnose issues and repair garage doors, door operators, and replace worn or broken parts.
- Install new equipment, including doors and springs.
- Educate customers on repair options and preventive measures.
- Review completed work with customers to ensure clarity and satisfaction.
- Sell services, repairs, and new equipment using a good/better/best model.
- Collect payments from customers.
- Manage inventory, tools, and products in your company-provided vehicle.
- Maximize productivity by efficiently addressing customer needs and managing time.
- Ensure quality work and customer satisfaction, leading to positive reviews.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety in driving and on-site work.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in garage door repair or a related field.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
- Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer communication.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow company processes.
- Proficiency with computers/tablets and basic technology.
- Experience using hand tools and operating mechanical equipment.
