ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to game time.
- Follow the directions of the official and all appropriate PIAA and BCIAA League rules.
- Make appropriate pre-game announcements regarding PIAA, BCIAA League, and District Policies.
- Make appropriate pre-game introductions of players, coaches, and officials.
- Make timely and accurate announcements regarding game information (scores, statistics, fouls, penalties, etc.).
- Make timely and accurate announcements regarding substitutions and personnel
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to use various public address systems.
- Understanding of the game for which one serves as announcer.
- Demonstrated ability to read rehearsed and new material aloud with minimal mistakes.
- Strong public speaking voice
- (Public Address experience preferred)
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Sitting for three hours
- Visual acuity to read text and observe games.
- Temperament: Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people. Must be cooperative.
- Ability to interpret detailed written and verbal communication.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced high-pressure work setting.
- High degree of patience and tolerance
