About the role

A galvanizing production worker will run equipment that chemically cleans grease, scale, dirt, and other foreign matter from metal objects to prepare them for the galvanizing process.

Responsibilities

  • Load objects on cranes and on racks or containers that will be carried through a series of chemicals and rinsing baths.
  • Examine cleaned objects to ensure standards are met.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations, including reporting any hazards, violations, or injuries to your Team Leader, no matter how minor.
  • Work overtime and weekends as required by Team Leaders to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Adhere to Lindsay policies and procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs., and reach to perform job functions.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with conditions including cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dusts.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, and ear plugs.
