Gainesville - Skilled CNA Needed

Comfort Keepers is looking for a skilled CNA to join our team in Gainesville to provide 24/7 care for a client. The caregiver will offer companionship and personal care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, eating, and toileting. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping others. Experience with Parkinson’s and comfort using a Sit to Stand machine are required. The client has cats in the home, and this is an in-person role requiring daily commute.

About the Role

This position involves assisting a bed-bound client with hospice care needs, including bathing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. Applicants must live within 30 minutes of the hiring location and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by instilling confidence and trust in a competent and caring manner.
• Assist with hygiene and daily living activities, including toileting, bathing, and showering.
• Support patients with meals as needed.
• Assist with ambulating, turning, and positioning patients.
• Maintain any specialized training and perform additional tasks pertinent to the assigned patient or area.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ to apply.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Personal care experience.
• Passion for the job and a genuine desire to help others.
• Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and a TB skin test (must be completed before orientation).
• Reliable transportation, valid automobile insurance, and a current driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel 25 miles (30 to 45 minutes).
• Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, drug testing, and provide good work-related references.
• U.S. citizen or approved work permit to work in the U.S.
• Previous experience as a Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide/Assistant, or similar positions is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with bed-bound patients and hospice care.
• Comfort with using a Sit to Stand machine and experience with Parkinson’s.

Schedule

• Flexible availability preferred.
• Monday–Sunday shifts available 24/7, including days and overnights.
• Current openings: Monday–Thursday 6pm–10:30pm and Monday–Sunday 10:30pm–8:30am.

Pay

Starting pay up to $23/hour, based on availability, credentials, and experience.
