G.I.S. Technician

About the role

The G.I.S. Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining geographic information systems (GIS) software and hardware. This includes data collection, analysis, and mapping projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage GIS software and hardware
• Collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data
• Create and maintain GIS databases
• Develop and implement GIS applications
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate GIS data
• Prepare reports and presentations based on GIS findings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
• At least 2 years of professional GIS experience
• Proficiency in ArcGIS software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GIS concepts and principles
• Experience with data management and database design
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic understanding of cartography and map design
