Summary Description
The Staff Development Teacher (SDT) under the direction of the principal supports building staff capacity to enhance student learning, motivation, and wellbeing. They foster individual and group professional development through job-embedded learning and implementation support aligned with the School Improvement Plan (SIP).

Job Specific Information
Wage Range: $66,690 - $135,745 based on education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of best practices in adult learning, teaching methods, and teaching skills.
Knowledge of teaching standards and ability to coach and mentor teachers around those standards.
Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze student performance data and develop instructional strategies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Education, Training, And Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, training, a specific subject, curriculum development, or a related field.
Master's degree or National Board Certification preferred.
Minimum five years of successful teaching experience; at least three in MCPS is desirable.
Mets standard rating on the most recent teacher evaluation.
Experience in presenting and modeling exemplary teaching behaviors and practices in various settings.
Evidence of instructional leadership (e.g., team leader, resource teacher, interdisciplinary resource teacher, department chair, systemwide committees, etc.).
Successful completion of Studying Skillful Teaching or Observation and Analysis of Teaching preferred.
Experience with leadership, mentoring, and/or coaching preferred.
Certificate and License Requirements
Maryland licensure in an appropriate field of education.
