About the Role

Under direction of the school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student. Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community. Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics in English at Gaithersburg Elementary School, a Two-Way Immersion school (English and Spanish)
• Implement MCPS curriculum and integrate technology into lessons
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, maintaining appropriate records
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community
• Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
• Meets Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education

Skills

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education
li>Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
• Knowledge and application of the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS)

Pay

The wage range for this position is a salary between $66,690 and $135,745 based on education and experience.

Gaithersburg Elementary School is a Two-Way Immersion school (English and Spanish). This position is for an English-speaking facilitator. Full-time, 10-month position.
