FY27: Coach, Varsity Gymnastics, Springbrook HS, TPT

About the role

This is a temporary part‑time athletics coach position at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring. The coach will be hired for one season by the school principal or designee. Preference is given to qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators; emergency coach pathways are available if no such candidate is found. Compensation details are outlined in the MCPS Extracurricular Activities (ECA) Handbook and the MCEA Contract (Article 20).

Requirements

• Must be interviewed and hired by the principal or designee at the school with the vacancy.
• Certified Coach pathway: be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS; have completed or be enrolled in the two‑credit MCPS course “Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED”; submit the online MCPS application.
• Level I Emergency Coach pathway: hold a certified teaching credential (not necessarily MCPS‑employed); have completed the same two‑credit MCPS course; submit the online MCPS application.
• Level II Emergency Coach pathway: be a high school graduate, at least 21 years of age; have completed the two‑credit MCPS course; submit the online MCPS application.

Schedule
