About the role

Poolesville High School is seeking an athletics coach for its first Stunt team during the spring season. The position is temporary part-time (TPT) without benefits and requires immediate hiring to allow for MCPS training opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Coach the school’s inaugural Stunt team for the spring season.

Requirements

To be considered for this coaching position, applicants must meet one of the following certification pathways:

Certified Coach

  • Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS.
  • Have completed or be enrolled in the two-credit MCPS course Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED (offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit).
  • Complete and submit the online MCPS application.

Level I Emergency Coach

  • Be a certified teacher (not employed by MCPS).
  • Have completed the two-credit MCPS course Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED (offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit).
  • Complete and submit the online MCPS application.

Level II Emergency Coach

  • Be a high school graduate and at least 21 years of age.
  • Have completed the two-credit MCPS course Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED (offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit).
  • Complete and submit the online MCPS application.

Applicants must be interviewed and hired by the principal or designee at Poolesville High School. Coaches are hired for one season and must be qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators, if available. Emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS teacher or professional certified educator is available.

Pay

Wage range varies based on factors such as the nature of the project, prior MCPS experience, and current negotiated agreements. For specific wage information, contact the hiring manager.

  • Part-time, temporary position.
