About the role
The stage (technical) director supervises the design and construction of sets and properties for a minimum of two major theatrical productions per year: one play and one musical. Duties are performed after school hours during the academic year (September through June). The sponsor oversees students in classrooms, the auditorium, and other meeting areas, fostering a fair and equitable environment.
Requirements
To be a certified coach in MCPS, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS, and
- Have completed or be enrolled in the two-credit MCPS course "Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals, and CPR/AED" (offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit)
- Complete and submit the online MCPS application
- To coach as a Level I Emergency Coach:
- Be a certified teacher (not employed by MCPS)
- Have completed the two-credit MCPS course "Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals, and CPR/AED"
- Complete and submit the online MCPS application
- To coach as a Level II Emergency Coach:
- Be a high school graduate and at least 21 years of age
- Have completed the two-credit MCPS course "Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals, and CPR/AED"
- Complete and submit the online MCPS application
Coaches are hired for one season and must be interviewed and selected by the principal or designee at the school with the vacancy. Schools prioritize hiring qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators; emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS candidate is available.
Pay
Stipend: $5,994.00
