FY27: Building Service Worker (Shift I), Stonegate ES, 8hrs/12mos, Ad closes 9/11/26

About the Role

Under general supervision, performs building cleaning, facilities and grounds maintenance work in schools and administrative buildings. This is the entry and general worker level in the building service staff positions. Employees receive on the job training in the application of simple manual skill and use of cleaning and grounds tools and equipment, and supplies to clean interior of buildings and maintain grounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior of buildings and maintain grounds
• Monitor building spaces and grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Lift and move furniture and equipment (minimum 50 lbs.)
• Perform manual labor as required
• Report to buildings during inclement weather (emergency personnel)
• May be required to report to other locations to assist staff in emergency situations
• Work frequent overtime or night shifts as required
• Maintain a current working telephone number with supervisor
• Wear provided uniforms and proper attire

Requirements

• Completion of ninth grade required; High School or GED diploma preferred
• Experience in general cleaning of buildings and grounds
• Sufficient physical strength and freedom from disabling defects to lift and move heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs.) and perform manual labor
• Some knowledge of methods, materials and practices of building and grounds work
• Ability to learn proper operation and maintenance of custodial and grounds care equipment
• Ability to learn proper use of approved cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Basic knowledge of emergency facility response procedures
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
• Ability to communicate with customers
• Knowledge of and ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS)
• Must provide current working telephone number to supervisor and update as necessary

Pay

• Wage range: $20.65 - $26.16 per hour, based on years of service

Schedule

• Hours: 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Evening shift
• Full-time, 12 months
