Duties And Responsibilities
- Complete at least fifteen contact (15) hours of professional development annually.
- Instruct assigned classes at the assigned school and at times designated by Principal.
- Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Absorb and implement a variety of instructional techniques and media.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess student accomplishments on a regular basis and provide progress reports.
- Guide the learning process towards achieving curriculum goals.
- Manage classroom space, time, and resources effectively for student learning.
- Engage in professional learning and possess a growth mindset.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with families/guardians.
- Encourage students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Aid teacher aides and volunteers and evaluate their job performance.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies for acceptable use of district-owned fixed asset items.
- Maintain responsibility for any district-owned fixed asset item assigned to employee and ensure appropriate use.
- Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures.
Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Education or higher.
- Certification: Hold an appropriate Mississippi Teaching Credential (Pre-K/K 153).
