Job Summary

We're on a mission to promote water survival by teaching swimming skills in a fun, gentle, and effective way.

Compensation

Competitive Pay – $16-$18 per hour, based on experience, plus potential bonuses.

Training

Paid Training – No swim experience? No problem! We’ll teach you everything you need.

  • Consistent, Part-Time Hours – Evenings & weekends (9-20 hours per week). Available shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings 3:30-8:15PM; Saturday 8:30AM-1:15PM; Sunday 12:30PM-5:15PM ** with a requirement to work one weekend shift.
  • Multiple Locations – Shifts at conveniently located pools in Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, and Harrisburg

Responsibilities

  • Teaching students (as young as 3 months!) and adults how to swim using our proven, gentle, and engaging methods.
  • Working in the water for your entire four hour shift - this isn’t a dry, on-the-sides kind of job!
  • Engaging with families and keeping them updated on their swimmer’s progress.

Requirements

  • Able to be on your feet in the pool for 4 hours at a time and occasionally assist in lifting kids.
  • Comfortable in and around water
  • A passion for working with kids
  • High school diploma (or in progress)
  • Experience working with children or Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (but not required).

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or in a child-focused job (but not required if you can show the right attitude).

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude.

The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
