Primary Responsibilities
- Understand and follow all safety procedures.
- Understand and follow all company policies and procedures at all times.
- Understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation.
- Maintain quality standards on all products daily including in process testing log sheets.
- Pass annual fusion certification examinations to remain qualified for this position.
- Assemble components as required by work instructions and SOPs.
- Verify that all fusion equipment is in good condition and performing as designed.
- Clean, label and box products in department as needed.
- Support and participate in the overall EH&S programs.
- Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Knowledge And Skill Requirement
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Thorough, accurate, and works error free.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing environment.
- Able to select the proper component parts required for a work center.
- Must be or become certified in various plastic fusion processes (butt, electro, sidewall, plug & socket) within 90 days.
- At least 90 days of manual PE fusion experience.
- Advanced knowledge of all fusion machines in the department.
- Must be able to understand and utilize measurement tools that are specific to that area or product.
- Good attendance record and employment in good standing (no final warning or suspension).
- No more than 3 or more non-conformances during a rolling 12 month period to qualify for this role.
Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions
Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
- Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time.
- Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required).
- Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required).
- Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.
- Exposure to sparks, chips and dust (eye protection required).
- Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions.
- Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed.
