Further Production Technician, Fort Smith, DSI, Day Shift

Responsibilities

• Works on a moving conveyor belt using both hands to spread or style product.
• Performs multiple types of packing and weighing tasks.
• Pulls bones from product; inspects, grades, and removes product that does not meet standards.
• Participates as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members and attends team meetings.
• Fosters team cohesiveness on major issues and identifies areas lacking cohesiveness to resolve with the team leader.
• Supports Simmons' operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and communicates concerns or improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical Activities

• Must be able to move, push, or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Requires bending, stooping, walking, standing, and working in a cold, wet, noisy, and dusty environment for entire shift.
• Involves repetitive motion and may include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Standard waterproof gloves and sleeves.
• Hearing protection.
• Slip-resistant footwear.

Industry Experience

Preference for experience in poultry or food processing organizations.
