Furniture Repair Technician
About the role
As a Furniture Repair Technician in Last Mile at RXO, you’ll play a key role in restoring and repairing furniture to like-new condition. You’ll work hands-on with wood, upholstery, and hardware to identify damage, determine appropriate solutions, and execute repairs that meet our quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose basic to moderate furniture damage and determine appropriate repair method
- Perform repairs including burn-in fills, wood touch-ups, and frame stabilization
- Absorb and repair minor fabric issues such as seams and stuffing
- Replace or repair furniture components (legs, arms, handles, hinges, etc.)
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Use and maintain hand and power tools in a safe, effective manner
- Collaborate with senior team members to meet repair goals
- Inspect outbound deluxe furniture on multiple lanes daily to proactively identify and address damage, wear, or finish issues
- Support general warehouse operations during downtime as applicable, including: unloading trucks, pulling product, staging deliveries, and maintaining a clean work area
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in furniture repair or a related trade
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Physically able to lift and move items up to 75 lbs
