Furniture Repair Technician

About the Role

Our Furniture Repair Technician in Training Program trains associates to fully repair furniture for our customers, whether it be stitching upholstery, repairing wood and leather, or repairing mechanisms in motion furniture. The program lasts 7-12 weeks with monetary growth based on skill completion. Training takes place in the comfort of our service centers and offers five levels of craftsmanship techniques to master color, finishes, upholstery, leather, and structure repair.

Responsibilities

• Lift, lower, push, and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs
• Work with hands to perform craftsmanship, artistic, and/or carpentry services
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times
• Mix paints, powders, and stains to match existing finishes
• Repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstery furniture, or mechanical parts
• Set up and operate tools such as power drills, sanders, saws, and other repair tools
• Work both independently and with a team

Requirements

• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull furniture weighing up to and exceeding 100 lbs
• Comfort working with hands and aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic, or carpentry services
• Knowledge of mixing paints, powders, and stains
• Excellent listening skills
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
