Job Summary

The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a full-time Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment Specialist to join the Central Operations team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining office spaces, managing inventory, and ensuring seamless deliveries of furniture and supplies across service locations state-wide.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform skilled labor including smaller renovation projects, office reconfigures, surplus moving and inventory.
  • Deliver office furniture to other offices (chairs, desks, cubicle parts).
  • Enter required information onto required forms, invoices, receipts, and documents to maintain accurate records and prepare reports and listings.
  • Facilitate the efficient pulling, loading, and delivery of surplus, inventory, and forms from offices and warehouse.
  • Report security problems or hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Clean, maintain, and repair all tools and equipment used in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and perform tool and equipment inventory.
  • Estimate time, cost, and materials needed to install, replace, repair, or modify office spaces and related equipment and systems.
  • Advise in the selection, ordering, and storage of materials and equipment used to complete assigned tasks.
  • Read and interpret prints, layouts, specifications, and written instructions.
  • Confer with supervisor concerning construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Inventories, stocks, and monitors supplies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade.
  • Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training.
  • 1-5 years of experience in warehouse and inventory management, including parts and/or material distribution; and furniture assembly and delivery.
  • Ability to lift or maneuver boxes and/or supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to travel to all DHHS offices or facilities state-wide as needed.
