Furniture Builder I

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain and manufacture standard production and customized aircraft furniture.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work from orders and blueprints to build and assemble small aircraft furniture per specifications.
• Operate equipment such as table saw, band saw, platen press, hand and table router and sander with minimal assistance.
• Use small and large power tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, saws, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Operate spray gun for adhesive spray according to company specifications.
• Apply laminate and veneer to composite and other materials.
• Accurately record information required for data collection and material traceability with assistance.
• Understand and respond to budget hours and schedule requirements with assistance.
• Perform other related duties as required.

EDUCATION

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

EXPERIENCE

6+ months of related experience in assembly and/or composite.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
