Responsibilities
- Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time, as scheduled.

- Maintains proper batch storage, delivery, weighing, and mixing.
- Works with QC and raw material carriers to approve unloading of raw materials into silos.
- Evaluates batch plant control systems data and makes appropriate adjustments to ensure process operates efficiently and remains in control.
- Maintains exceptional housekeeping and organization in all areas of responsibility including but not limited to batch house, furnace level, furnace sump level, forehearth level, and control room.
- Monitors and adjusts critical process variables, including but not limited to, natural gas firing, electric boost power, pressure, temperature, flow rates, oxygen, bubblers, glass level, batch line, etc.
- Monitors and controls glass formation in furnace and forehearth to ensure optimum mixing, melting, and furnace throughput.
- Inspects furnace and forehearth per required frequency and takes appropriate action when issues are found.
- Aids in furnace changes, upsets, start-ups, shutdowns, repairs, and rebuilds.
- Guides and assists maintenance personnel in batch and furnace repairs.
- Performs minor repairs and process adjustments, as necessary.

Qualifications
- Prior furnace operations experience.
- Three or more years of manufacturing experience.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to provide simple and accurate instructions.
- Ability to work at times in a high temperature environment.
- Frequent lifting or moving materials up to 10 lbs.
- Required to work 12 hour rotating shift schedule including working days and nights and rotating frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and grasp.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights.
